And yes indeed it's time for a new Weather Notebook Brainstorm. Hi, I'm Dave Thurlow. Today's Brainstorm has to do with tropical climate, something at least half of the country is dreaming about now during the last few weeks of winter. And as our mid latitude winter melts away, I have a question about equitorial winter. There's a saying out there that goes like this: nighttime is the winter of the tropics. Once again, nighttime is the winter of the tropics. What does that mean? Do they winter in the tropics? Do they have seasons? Well all of these questions combine into our one Brainstorm today which again is what does the saying nighttime is the winter of the tropics mean? Call us at 1-888-RAIN-001 and leave your answer, guess, wild guess, theoretical ramblings, whatever on the machine. Then our machine will get in touch with Susan Ross Parent, our listener services coordinator, who will send your answer on to Producer Bryan Sejvar, who with engineer Sean Doucette, will pick the best answers. I'll pick the winner and Series Senior Editor Jay Allison will look over the script and it will go on the air and Susan will send you a magic weather mug. If you don't win, well, all entrants get a weather Notebook poster. The Brainstorm as always, is online (email your answer) at weathernotebook.org. Our show is a production of the Mount Washington Observatory with major funding provided by Subaru and the National Science Foundation.
