The Weather Notebook's 5th Anniversary First of all, I'd like to wish everyone a happy Groundhog Day, the only official weather holiday, and wish the best of luck to all you forecasting rodents. While they're busy at work I'd like to take a minute to recognize the people who work so hard around here at The Weather Notebook, because not only is it Groundhog Day today, it's also the fifth anniversary of the nation wide launch of this very show. That's right. Five years ago Mount Washington Observatory poked it's collective head out of the ground and not only saw it's shadow, but also a future radio show to add to it's wide array of weather research and education programs. The forecast was for a weather filled future, and the success of The Weather Notebook, which, thanks to you, has come true. We thank you; and, you can thank the people who put it together like - Bryan Sejvar, executive producer, production manager, distribution coordinator, and about 42 other things; and there's Sean Doucette, technical wizard, home page manager, and sound engineer. Susan Ross-Parent is our listener services coordinator, Karen Stancik keeps track of the money, we like her. Our series senior editor is Jay Allison, an independent radio and TV producer extrodinaire from Woods Hole Massachusetts. Georg Brandl displays his musical talents on each rendition of our theme. Thanks go to our long time writers: Bob Henson from Colorado, and David Laskin from Washington state, and to The Weather Notebook correspondents, like David Clark, Ann Thurlow, Lorraine Johnson Coleman, Robin White, Chuck Kruger and a whole bunch more. Very special thanks to our friends at Subaru, and at the National Science Foundation and to the thousands of listeners who show us that the glory of the atmosphere is everywhere. I'm Dave Thurlow.
