Email your weather question

It's all been one big lie. The newspapers, TV, radio even the top scientists are in on this worldwide conspiracy. Bryan Sejvar here for The Weather Notebook.

What conspiracy you ask? Why, the El Niño conspiracy of course. A conspiracy to hide the true cause of this global weather mystery. Well, fortunately for you we here at the Weather Notebook found the story behind the story. Yes, dear listeners we have found the truth, the real cause of last winter's mysterious weather.

AN: "Hi, my name is Al Niño from Nipomo, California."

It's all been the work of this one man, Al Niño, and science sleuth Dave Thurlow spoke with the perpetrator.

DT: "All these months I've been hearing on the news about something going on in the Pacific Ocean where the ocean temperatures getting warmer and its affecting the weather all around the world and little did I know it was really all your fault."

AN: "Yeah, I know. It surprises a number of people."

Still don't believe us? Well maybe when you hear where Mr. Niño worked for 25 years you'll change your mind.

AN: "I was in the navy for 33 years. 25 on submarines and 8 years in intelligence. All my submarine work was in the Pacific."

Hmmm, isn't that interesting...a guy named Al Niño who just happen to work in the Pacific Ocean for 25 years? Coincidence? You be the judge.

More tomorrow on The Weather Notebook about the mystery of Al Niño. Underwriting for our show comes from Subaru with major support provided by the National Science Foundation.
