Tiptoe through the tulips, next on The Weather Notebook.

Hi I'm Bryan Yeaton and this is The Weather Notebook. What do you think of when you hear this, Spring? Visitors to the Portland, Maine flower show recently shared their answers.

"I'm in my glory. I want to be up there on the bridge in the Japanese Garden."

"I'm feeling very happy and joyful. Oh yes, I already have some of my seeds started at home."

"Great! It's wonderful to be able to take the kids to see all the different things that are around and to be able to enjoy the fact that Spring is coming."

"Happy, yeah. Very peaceful."

"My kids were just over there a minute ago where there is some sod growing and I had to keep them from rolling around on it, they've missed seeing real grass for so long."

"Energized, I guess."

"I'm really enjoying it. How am I feeling? I've noticed that the smells aren't as bad as they were last year, so I'm not getting as stuffed up as I was. It's nice, it's beautiful in here."

"I think it looks very nice myself. It's very "springy" that's for sure."

"It's wondrous."

"We've got a project for our yard that we're gonna do this year, so this is giving us a lot of good ideas."

"Oh, inspired. Inspired for Spring!"

"Invigorated, it's been cold and gray outside and this is a good fresh breath of Spring."

"Oh, I'm feeling it's time to get my hands in the dirt. It's not been a great winter and it's time for Spring to be here and get some flowers up and put some seeds in the ground."

"Ready to go home and start digging I guess."

"Oh boy, it's Springtime, you bet. Any gardener that comes to this knows that they're right on the edge of being able to play with the dirt. Fantastic flower show!"

Thanks today to assistant producer, Doug Sanborn. The Weather Notebook is a production of The Mount Washington Observatory with help from Subaru of America and The National Science Foundation.
