Strange

Listen in RealAudio
Hi, I'm Bryan Yeaton, and this is The Weather Notebook. It is once again the time of the
month when we challenge you to a Brainstorm. And this month, the Brainstormer has
got a nasty one. Oh, yeah.
On June 4, 1980, Edwin Robinson walked out into his yard, where something very
strange and wonderful happened to him. Something atmospheric, of course. This one
will take a bit of work!
If you are unfamiliar with our Brainstorms, we ask you a question-like we just did-that
has to do with some aspect of the weather. All you do, is get in touch with us with your
correct answer. If you do, and we use your answer on the air, you get some cool
Weather Notebook stuff, plus get to hear your voice on the radio when we answer the
question.
To contact us, bolt over to the telephone and call our toll-free number: 888-RAIN-001;
that's 888-724-6001. You can also e-mail us at questions@weathernotebook.org.
Good luck!
Our question: what strange and enlightening weather thing happened to Edwin
Robinson back in 1980, as he walked into his yard to round up a pet chicken known as
"Tuk-Tuk?" If you can find out, or take a decent strike at the answer, let us know. Our
number again is 888-RAIN-001, or 888-724-6001. Our e-mail is
questions@weathernotebook.org. Hey-it's worth a shot at all the free stuff,
right?
If you would like to review this question, or peruse through any of our past Weather
Notebook programs, we are online at www.weathernotebook.org.
Our show is produced by The Mount Washington Observatory, home of the World's
Worst Weather. We are generously supported by The National Science Foundation and
Subaru, Driven By What's Inside. Thanks today to our Marketing Manager, Melody
Nester.
